For many years, I was showing tourists the country’s most famous sights, but deep down I kept dreaming of taking them somewhere wilder, somewhere off the beaten path — far from the crowds.
The hidden treasures of Bulgaria, full of history and culture, are what got me hooked at the History Department of Veliko Tarnovo University, what I read about in thick books, and what I’ve always wanted to share with curious travelers.
